Breaking boundaries

Ppl come into our lives to either bless us or stress us. Identifying that isn’t the hard part, acting on it is. We have to be wise enough to know the difference & not allow ppl to overstay their welcome.

Some ppl are like hitchhikers. We pick them up along the way, & it detours us from our final destination. We were headed towards the light at the end of the tunnel, then all of a sudden we go from simply being distracted to dwelling in a forbidden place. Now we’ve turned a 3 day journey into weeks, months, sometimes even years. That’s why it’s important to act on what we know, bc we tend to know better, but not always do better. We stay in certain places bc we don’t want to lose certain ppl. We know in our heart that we’ve outgrown them, but we choose to dumb ourselves down just to make them feel comfortable. With growth comes change, & if we truly step out of our comfort zone we’ll lose them forever, so we stay. We ride the fence. We continue to be that person they “used” to know, bc that’s who they relate to. We choose to entertain mediocrity for the comfort of someone else, not even realizing that it’s stunting our growth. Moving on seems scary, but there’s one thing for sure about staying where you are, & that’s already knowing what’s gonna come out of it! The same old thing. The familiar; nothing new to see or do, explore or learn. The common denominator is pain. We have to break free from those bad habits!

My prayer is that we begin to ask God to remove us. We tend to ask God to remove anything that means us no good, but we run in behind those things & pick them right back up, after we’ve asked God to take them away. We don’t know how to let it go & not go looking for it.

Prayer: Lord, I admit that there are some things I’m not strong enough to let go of on my own, so I pray & ask that You remove me from those strongholds. Release me from the hands of ppl who mean my heart no good. Remove me from those ppl, places, & things I try to keep close bc they’re familiar. Remove my mind from those negative thoughts. Remove my heart from the hate, pain, & rejection. Now God, restore me with Your love. Give me a new location, a new direction, a new motive to get to where You want me to go. Fill my life with godly friends who uplift me, inspire me, teach me, & motivate me. Fill my heart with joy & my mind with peace. Help me to stay free & not go back in bondage. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

This is a GREAT Word! Thanks for sharing, there are so many people not growing because of “fear of change” and also the “familiarity of the same.” It’s hard to BREAK FREE from bad habits and even harder to STAY FREE (especially if your surroundings are the same). I thank God for this word and pray He continues to bless you and your family!

I love how you write! It flows so easy and you have many valuable things to say. I have had to learn the hard way to let some people go and surround myself with those who uplift and don’t drag you down ❤
